The eero Max 7 is the all new router unveiled by Amazon. This model, compatible with Wi-Fi 7, will offer speeds twice as high as the old generation. However, you will have to pay the price to benefit from it.
Amazon presented its new home products this Wednesday, September 20 and swept through all of its brands for the occasion. For several years, the e-commerce giant has owned the company eero, specializing in mesh Wi-Fi routers. The eero Max 7 is the latest version that will improve the quality of your coverage at home. This model is probably the most advanced ever offered by the company and will offer you astonishing speeds.
A Wi-Fi 7 router twice as fast as the previous generation
The eero Max 7 is the first Wi-Fi 7 model from the Amazon subsidiary. Its design remains entirely consistent with the brand’s other products, rather rounded, with a very faint white color and a sobriety which allows it to be placed almost anywhere in the house without clashing with the decoration of your interior.
The interest of a mesh router obviously does not lie in its aesthetics, but above all in its performance. On this point, the eero Max 7 does not disappoint. The device supports the 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz radio bands, and offers wireline speeds of up to 9.4 Gbps as well as wireless speeds of up to 4.3 Gbps .
On the back, there are two 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports and two 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports. This allows users to support 10 Gbps connections provided by their Internet service providers. The eero Max 7 also offers twice the throughput of the eero Pro 6E.
Amazon gives more concrete use cases and indicates that it is possible with the device to “ download a 4K movie in 10 seconds or a 50 gigabyte video game in less than a minute “.
A router at the cutting edge of technology, and it shows on the bill
The eero Max 7 is a mesh router, with coverage extended to an area of 232 m2, if you opt for a pack bringing together three copies. It still benefits from proprietary TrueMesh technology, which allows “ dynamically route data through the fastest path on the network, limiting interference and ensuring customers have a fast, reliable internet experience in every room “.
The next-generation router can accept connections from up to 200 devices, and offers support for Matter, Thread and Zigbee home automation protocols. It is also backwards compatible with your older eero devices and can integrate into your existing system very easily.
The eero Max 7 is a very promising device on paper, but you’ll have to break the bank to get it. The router is in fact offered at a price of 699.99 euros. The release date has not been communicated by the company.
