This is how we determined the comparison prices
For our price comparison, we consult the price search engine geizhals.de. On the one hand, we compare the offer with the manufacturer’s recommended retail price (RRP), which usually reflects the costs at market launch. On the other hand, we naturally look at how much other, reputable, online retailers charge for a product.
This is usually the more interesting comparison, as the RRP usually differs significantly from the current street price. When comparing with other dealers, we only consider well-known and reputable dealers with appropriate ratings and a company headquarters in Germany. We generally leave out smaller eBay or Amazon Marketplace sellers in our price comparison.
Flash deals and last minute offers
In addition to daily offers (last minute offers), Amazon also has so-called lightning deals. These are only valid for a few hours and the number of discounted products is limited. New lightning deals are activated every 15 or 30 minutes throughout the day.
On promotional days like Black Friday or Cyber Monday, there can also be new flash offers every five minutes. If you like a product, you put it in your virtual shopping cart. Then you only have 15 minutes to pay at the checkout.

For non-Prime members, shipping costs apply to Amazon orders for purchases under 29 euros. Prime customers only have to pay for express delivery. These are the fees you will incur as a non-Prime member:
- Standard shipping for media products, Amazon devices and fashion and sportswear: 2.89 euros
- Standard shipping for products of all other categories: 3.89 euros
- Premium shipping for media products, Amazon devices and fashion and sportswear: 3.86 euros

Amazon’s marketplace has a special status. Shipping costs can apply here for both non-Prime and Prime customers.
Returns and exchanges
Your right to return or cancel your order at Amazon is 30 days. There are exceptions here on the marketplace. Depending on the seller, you may only have 14 days to return the item.
Tip: Always process returns via the Amazon website. For many products, you will receive a return slip and can return the goods free of charge.
As is usual in online trading, there is no general right to exchange an item for an identical product (such as clothing in a different size). For some items, you can select “replace” when returning them. However, in most cases, only returns are possible.
Amazon Trade In
Amazon recently launched a new trade-in program for TVs. You can trade in your old Fire TV for a new one at the mail order company. The value is first determined based on the stated condition. You will then receive an Amazon voucher for the determined device value as well as a 20 percent discount on a new Fire TV device.
Financing purchases – these are the options
Many products such as large kitchen appliances, televisions or notebooks are not particularly cheap. Not everyone can afford these devices with a one-off payment. If you still want to fulfill a long-held wish or need to make a new purchase quickly, financing is a good option.
In this respect, it is more difficult at Amazon than at other retailers. On the one hand, the Amazon credit card gives you the option of financing expensive products with monthly installments. However, this incurs high interest rates of almost 15 percent.
On the other hand, the mail order company offers an installment payment option for some products. Here you can pay for goods in five monthly payments and without interest. The availability of the 5-month financing is, however, very limited. This is usually offered for Amazon’s own products. However, you can also find it from other retailers on the platform.
Get an Amazon VISA card with a starting credit of 40 euros
If you get the VISA credit card from Amazon, you can save on your first purchases. As a thank you, you will receive a credit of 40 euros. When you make purchases using the credit card, you also collect bonus points from Amazon and participating partners, which you can then redeem when making purchases in the Amazon online shop.

AmazonSmile
Amazon Smile is an initiative by the mail order company that allows you to do something good with your purchases. If you purchase through Amazon Smile, the retailer supports a non-profit organization of your choice – at no extra cost to you. 0.5 percent of the purchase amount is passed on.
