Amel Bent in The Voice: this confidence about his father almost went unnoticed

Saturday April 30, 2022, during the second evening of The Voice cross battles broadcast on TF1, Amel Bent made an almost unnoticed remark on his family situation. Closer tells you.

She was moved. Saturday evening, during the second evening of The Voice cross battles broadcast on TF1, Amel Bent was touched by the performance of his talent Matteo. Came to defend his place with the title “T’en vas pas” by Elsa, the young boy did not fail to echo, in spite of himself, the life of the 36-year-old star. Indeed, by interpreting the piece which evokes the abandonment of a father, Matteo brought back old memories. “Is it his story or not?” asked Vianney to Amel Bent shortly after his appearance on stage. “I don’t know but in any case it’s mine” she replied.

As a reminder, Amel Bent had a busy relationship with her father who left the family home when she was only three years old. She who knew him little was confronted with “a toxic and rather dangerous relationship“. “What could hurt me at that time was that I knew nothing about my father. There was nothing to know. I knew what he was doing, where he was, we were almost neighbours. But my father, it’s special”, had entrusted Amel Bent to Manu Katché a few years ago. The young woman and mother who grew up in La Courneuve added:He is an individual full of pain, full of remorse, who was not ready, I think, to rise up. I wish I could hate him. Hate him because I would have seen him love another woman, or other children, but he didn’t. He was helpless in front of me, little one. When I met him in the city, it bugged a bit. And suddenly me too, I said to myself: ‘It’s a weird situation’. I did not understand”.

Amel Bent: his forgiveness to his father

When she saw her father for the first time, Amel Bent, however, let herself be overwhelmed by emotion. “When I first saw my father again, after years, he didn’t know what to say to me and just had tears in his eyes. I was uncomfortable with the pain, the regrets, the remorse when I saw his look.” To move forward, however, the star began a process of forgiveness. “You are not perfect. Nobody is perfect. If God forgives, then who am I to judge? Sometimes we do our best but we know, “the best is very often the enemy of the good. What I have learned from life is that the love of a girl, a woman or of a mother can change a man and make him better, she assured. I want to be this daughter, this woman and this mother.” she said on Instagram in June 2021.
