Star Wars Outlaws should greatly appeal to big fans

Ubisoft seems to have put a lot of effort into Star Wars Outlaws, including introducing many ideas to further enrich the films’ already deep universe.

As part of the development of Star Wars Outlaws, creators at Massive Entertainment continue to reveal details of the complex world in which the player will evolve. Among the most notable new features, the Ashiga clan, a criminal organization freshly imagined for the game, promises to be an intriguing addition to the Star Wars mythology. This is what we can learn via a GameInformer interview.

Star Wars Outlaws enriches the Star Wars universe

The Ashiga clan, established on the planet Kijimi, already explored in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, is distinguished by its unique structure and rich history. Described as a sort of anthill by John Björling, associate narrative director of the project, this crime syndicate highlights the Melitto, a species introduced in The Force Awakens. These insectoid creatures prioritize the needs of the group over individual desires, following a rigid hierarchy under the direction of their leader, named Ashiga.

According to Björling, the clan is at a critical juncture in its history, facing internal disagreements over its future direction. This dynamic adds a layer of complexity to their already unique functioning, which is inspired by the collective life of ants. Star Wars Outlaws promises to introduce a new and profound facet to the extended Star Wars universe, by combining space exploration, reputation system and activities in a dynamic open world. This new title, scheduled for release on August 30 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, continues to build anticipation with regular trailers and reveals about its content.

With the introduction of factions such as the Ashiga Clan, Star Wars Outlaws looks set to deliver a rich and immersive experience. All while providing details on elements that we have seen in the films. This is a very good thing for the extended Star Wars universe and for player immersion.
