Amira Pocher spoke about the difficult time when she came to Germany in 2014. In Düsseldorf she often felt alone.

Amira Pocher (28) has in the current episode of their podcast “Hey Amira” talked about her first time in Germany. “When I came here, I had no one,” says the wife of comedian Oliver Pocher (43). The Austrian came to Germany in 2014. “I moved to Düsseldorf, completely alone,” says the 28-year-old. She lived in an 18-square-meter room with a hotplate without an oven and she had 70 euros a week at her disposal.

She went to school by train every day and helped out in a hairdressing salon on the weekend. “In my life I have always had at least two jobs to stay afloat because there was no other way,” says Pocher, who was born in Klagenfurt in Austria and worked as a make-up artist and hairstylist. In Düsseldorf she felt marginalized, while she was previously a “pack animal” in Austria, always had a large circle of friends and worked in a club in the evenings. “From one day to the next I was in a new country, with a suitcase and sat there alone every day without television and internet.” It was a very hard time for her until she got to know her partner at the time and got to know a lot of people through him.

Amira and Oliver Pocher have been married since October 2019. On November 11, 2019, they announced the birth of their first child via Instagram. On December 27, 2020, the comedian announced the birth of their second child.
