A dispute over Amy Winehouse’s estate is heading to court. Two friends are said to have illegally sold property.

A long-running dispute between the heirs of Amy Winehouse (1983-2011) and her two alleged friends Naomi Parry and Catriona Gourlay is now heading to court more than twelve years after the singer’s tragic death. As the British “Mirror” reports, the singer’s heirs accuse the two women of illegally selling Winehouse’s items. They demand payment of the sum of 730,000 pounds, the equivalent of almost 850,000 euros.

The plaintiffs – led by Mitch Winehouse (73), the father of the deceased – claim before the High Court that Parry and Gourlay unlawfully sold “various personal items” at an auction. The lawsuit states that portions of Winehouse’s property were “converted for their own use” by the two women.

There was already a statement last month

In a November 2023 statement on the dispute, a spokesperson for Amy Winehouse’s heirs said: “In 2021, estate items from Amy’s life and career were auctioned off, with 30 percent of the proceeds going to the Amy Winehouse Foundation. Two people “Sold a number of items at this auction and kept the proceeds: The items were all related to Amy.”

They also auctioned off more items this year. People are now wondering how these things came into their possession, but so far they have not received any satisfactory answers. That is why we are now seeking legal proceedings to clarify the situation.

Amy Winehouse died of alcohol poisoning on July 23, 2011 at the age of 27. In the months and years before, she had already struggled with mental problems and massive drug abuse.
