An exceptional keyboard at a disproportionate price

We had the opportunity to test for 1 month a new high-end entry from Corsair, namely the K70 Pro. A “luxury” model that represents the quintessence of Corsair know-how.

The American Corsair has just released a new top-of-the-range model which represents the spearhead of its “collection” of keyboards. Namely the K70 RGB Pro model. Behind this name hides a new version of the K70, with all that can be done better in 2022. It remains to be seen if the developments are sufficient to want to get your hands on the wallet.

A keyboard that exudes robustness

We are in the presence of a full-size keyboard of 444 mm x 166 mm x 44 mm for a weight of 1.15 kg. Very clearly Corsair did not seek to make it an easily transportable device and there is no problem with that. It’s that breed of keyboard that’s only ambition is to sit peacefully on your desk. Anyway, at the price of this one, we clearly don’t want anything to happen to him. There is in particular an elegant and very pleasant detachable wrist rest despite the hardness of the plastic. The set is very robust and qualitative while remaining particularly elegant.

A very high price

The K70 Pro features an open type chassis Frameless which gives the impression to all the keys to fly over the rest of the aluminum “case”. As always with Corsair, it’s beautiful and the materials are of high quality. It’s the least you can do when you pay 190 euros. Aluminum, double injection PBT plastic for the keys, braided USB cable…

Excellent from start to finish

It is an exclusively wired keyboard and for this price you can still find exceptional typing comfort. We received a model with MX RED switches but the keyboard is also available in MX Blue, MX Brown and MX Speed Silver. It is enough to make the choice on the official site or at one of the retailers, even the RED seems the most common. The feedback is excellent, the responsiveness flawless and the noise pollution forgettable. This is also the charm of this kind of mechanics.

New features

One of the selling points of this model and one of the novelties is the AXON technology and the Tournament technology. The tournament mode is very simple and simply allows via a small button on the front to deactivate the macros and to make the RGB static to avoid any source of distraction for the eye. This also makes it possible to make a mistake in the excitement of a game.

AXON technology is intended for… robots. Indeed it is for Corsair to make the keyboard more reactive with more data processed per second compared to a more classic keyboard. For classic gaming use, the difference is clearly invisible and you really have to be a pro player (or a robot) to notice a difference in size. We are not saying that it is useless but for ordinary mortals it remains very superficial.

We are still on a K70 Pro vintage 2022 of very good quality which is not likely to disappoint you.
