A new legal battle has begun for the family of Alexia Daval, a 29-year-old jogger who died on the night of October 27 to 28, 2017. A crime for which her husband Jonathann Daval was convicted and sentenced to 25 years in prison on November 21, 2020. Alexia Daval’s family will once again be heard by the courts on Friday November 5, 2021. It is more precisely in front of the correctional appeals chamber in Besançon (Doubs) that Isabelle and Jean-Pierre Fouillot will try to recover the house of the couple, located in Gray-le-ville, that Jonathann Daval does not want to cede to them.
The Daval couple had lived in this house before the tragedy. Concretely, this house belongs in joint possession to Jonathann Daval. The other part is held by Stéphanie, the sister and parents of Alexia Daval, whose body had been found partly charred. Alexia’s parents, accompanied by a notary, had decided to lift the seals on this house last March to take over the property. Everything did not go as planned.
Daval case: an “incident” between Alexia and Jonathann’s mothers
As recalled The Parisian, a “incident“which arose between the two mothers over this property in March forced the two parties to appeal to justice. Indeed, Jonathann Daval’s mother had the same idea. She was also accompanied by a notary and owned a power of attorney for his son. It was therefore impossible for Alexia Daval’s parents to take back the keys. As a result of that day, the lawyer for Alexia Daval’s parents had “obtained the registration of a temporary mortgage to secure the property“to prevent Jonathann Daval from being able to cede his share to his mother about this property which would have lost 15 to 20% of its value because of the tragedy.
