If you’re asked to think about a smartwatch, there’s a good chance you’ll think of a device with a sporty, somewhat austere look. With its Watch GT4, Huawei intends to change the situation and bring the watch up to date, with connectivity to boot. With a round design, two case diameters and, above all, almost two weeks of battery life, the Huawei Watch GT4 proves that design can rhyme with power. From November 13, the manufacturer is stepping up its efforts and automatically adds a pair of FreeBuds SE 2 headphones to any order for its watch. A nice gift worth almost 50 euros.

Watchmaking aesthetics in a connected watch

Far from watches that are too imposing on the wrist, the Huawei Watch GT4 is closer to a piece of jewelry than a simple technological object. This studied design is based on a comfortable 1.5 or 1.43 inch AMOLED screen included respectively in a 41 or 46 mm case. The watch offers a wide range of more than 25,000 dials and also allows you to personalize some of them so that your watch adapts to your style.

Its stainless steel case ensures both a smooth and shiny finish as well as excellent resistance to the vagaries of life. On the upper right side of the dial, we find an elegant rotating crown, similar to that of horological watches. It allows you to navigate the menus intuitively, by scrolling through your notifications on the screen. The crown, if you press it, finally allows you to return to the home screen of the watch. Featherweight, the Huawei Watch GT4 does not exceed 48 grams without its bracelet. Enough to wear it all day without feeling it on your wrist.

The Huawei Watch GT4 is also compatible with all versions of Android above version 8 and all versions of iOS from version 13. Enough to take advantage of all the features offered by this connected watch in your daily life . Notifications, connection to your favorite music applications, call management, you will almost forget your smartphone.

Rigorous health monitoring

In addition to its elegant design and its features designed to accompany you in your daily life, the Huawei Watch GT4 also monitors your health thanks to a whole series of sensors such as the optical heart rate sensor, the infrared sensor for measuring SpO2 or even the body temperature sensor.

This set of measures allows you, for example, to rigorously monitor your sleep by analyzing your circadian rhythm. You will thus know if your nights of sleep are restorative or if it would be interesting to establish a bedtime routine to sleep better.

Better yet, the manufacturer has implemented a small feature that should simplify the lives of many people: menstrual cycle monitoring. To estimate the length of your cycle, anticipate your PMS (premenstrual syndrome) or your ovulation period.

Finally, the heart rate sensor can alert you if your rate is too high or not high enough and act on your stress accordingly thanks to some welcome breathing exercises.

A watch that finds its place in the city as well as in the gym

Beyond measuring stress, the Huawei Watch GT4 also benefits from its heart rate sensor to support you during your sports sessions. The watch offers precise measurement of your pulse for more than a hundred sports training modes including paddle and more surprisingly, e-sport. Indoors or outdoors, the Huawei Watch GT4 will allow you to get the most out of your sporting activities.

Running enthusiasts will also find something to suit them since Huawei offers improved route tracking on this new version. Two additions consolidate the precision of GPS:

  • a GNSS tracking system (Global Navigation Satellite Systems) on five systems (GPS, Galileo, Glonass, BeiDou, QZSS)
  • orientation of the GPS antennas in beam formation. The advantage? The antennas are continuously oriented towards the sky regardless of the position of the wrist to ensure better accuracy of the user’s position.

More GPS systems supported and antennas constantly oriented towards the sky therefore combine their effects to guarantee ultra-precise location.

Better, the manufacturer has also provided voice assistance which indicates in your headphones which direction to go, all in real time. In addition to runners, hiking or trail enthusiasts will find a real argument in favor of this connected watch.

Last good news for this Huawei Watch GT4: its 5 ATM water resistance which allows it to follow swimming sessions without any problem.

Fitted wrist and ears: the FreeBuds Pro 3 go green

From November 13, the manufacturer is offering a discount of -20 euros with the code “AFRANDROIDPRO3» for the purchase of a pair of Freebuds Pro 3 headphones to perfectly match the colors of the Huawei Watch GT 4 Green model.

The headphones also exist in other colors: Ceramic White or Frost Silver. The headphones will allow you to enjoy clear sound and very effective active noise reduction. Better still, the presence of multipoint Bluetooth on headphones at this price is a real plus for maintaining connection with your watch and your smartphone simultaneously. They also received a very good reception from the editorial staff who gave them a 9/10.
