Discover the first images of “And the mountain will flower”, the back-to-school saga of France 2 with Hélène de Fougerolles, Guillaume Arnault, and Philippe Torreton who, between betrayals, ambitions and rivalries, plunges us into 19th century France.

Almost two years after her last appearance in Balthazar, Hélène de Fougerolles is about to make her big comeback on the small screen in And the mountain will flower, the mini-series of the return to France 2 event of which AlloCiné invites you to discover the first exclusive images.

Written and directed by Eléonore Faucher (La Maladroite, Les déferlantes), this complex story between betrayals, ambitions and rivalries against a backdrop of family drama and revolution in 19th century France is none other than the adaptation of the novel by Françoise Bourdon The Mas des Tilleuls.

And to bring this historical and romantic saga to the screen, France 2 called on an exceptional cast made up of Hélène de Fougerolles, but also Guillaume Arnault (seen in Germinal and in Clem), Claire Duburcq (After Blue, 1917), Philippe Torreton (Simone, Le voyage du siècle, La Traque), Constance Dollé (Manipulations, De Gaulle, the brilliance and the secret), Ophelia Kolb (We are going to love each other a little much), Julien Boisselier (Visions ), and Catherine Allégret (Tomorrow belongs to us, Murders in Albi).

As this first trailer reveals, the plot of Et la montagne fleurira takes place in Provence, in 1837. Jean-Baptiste (Guillaume Arnault) is wrongly accused of having abused his stepmother Séraphine (Hélène de Fougerolles ) and is forever banished from the farmhouse of his childhood by his father Sosthène (Philippe Torreton).

To survive, Jean-Baptiste then has no other choice but to take refuge with his aunt Blanche (Constance Dollé). He thus became a peddler and druggist and criss-crossed France to sell plants picked on the Lure mountain. But meanwhile, Séraphine’s son, Gaspard (Rio Vega), is trying to find a place for himself at the farmhouse he loves so much.

While Jean-Baptiste finds love with Lila (Claire Duburcq) and believes he has overcome adversity, his happiness vanishes in the tumults of a Provence in revolt. Disinherited, cursed by his father, he nevertheless understands that he will only find peace on one condition: to regain his rights to the farmhouse of his childhood…

No broadcast date has yet been announced by France 2, but the six episodes of Et la montagne fleurira were to be aired in the coming weeks.
