The numbers of the Klagenfurt professional fire department in the annual balance sheet for 2023 speak for themselves: 1,236 fire and 1,983 technical operations, 20,272 teams deployed, 32,945 kilometers driven, 12,064 hours completed and 104 people rescued. “2023 was a very challenging year for us, especially due to the floods in August. We went out on average 22 times a day, but normally we do nine missions a day,” says Wolfgang Germ, deputy fire director, and adds: “But we were well prepared for it. The crisis team reacted excellently.”
