The main advances are made by the new H2 chip, which is more powerful, but also less energy-consuming. The AirPods Pro 2 are announced with a battery life of 6 hours per charge (5 hours on the first AirPods Pro). They would also be twice as efficient as their predecessors in reducing ambient noise, but also much more precise in reproducing surrounding sounds in Transparency mode. Additionally, it is now possible to map your ears using an iPhone’s TrueDepth camera to significantly improve the performance of Spatial Audio. The case is full of new features
The case benefits from many changes. If the design remains very close, it can now be located using the Locate app on iOS. A loudspeaker has also been integrated to ring it in case the user loses it between two cushions. This speaker also allows you to deliver different information, such as the pairing status or the remaining battery level. Speaking of which, the case should provide about four additional charges and can be recharged using the Apple Watch charger. Finally, the case is now equipped with a notch that can be used to attach a strap.
The AirPods Pro 2 will be available for pre-order from this Friday, September 9 for a release scheduled for September 23. They will be marketed at a price of €299, which is €20 more than the first AirPods Pro. These are also disappearing from Apple’s catalog.
