An increase due to the accumulation of numerous factors, which also affect the whole of Europe. Among them, we note in particular the economic and industrial recovery linked to the exit from the economic crisis due to Covid-19, in 2020, as well as the war in Ukraine, which also shook up the market. The end of the tariff shield put in place by the government announced by the Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Maire in December 2023 has not helped the French to get their heads above water either.

And things are unlikely to get better. At least, for part of the population. On its site, the main French producer and supplier of electricity EDF announced that its customers having subscribes to the “Base and Off-Peak Hours” options, which notably allow you to benefit from a cheaper kWh price during the day and at night, will see their increase contained to 10% on the bill.

In detail, the price of electricity is particularly expensive for 22 days a year, from November to March, particularly because the temperatures are low, the days are short, and we are therefore obliged to raise the temperature of the radiators and leave the lights on longer.

Customers who have subscribed to the Tempo option will therefore experience an increase of 14.2% in the amount of their invoice because we have just gone through these so-called periods classified red in the barometer of the price list set up by the electricity supplier in 2024.
