“Argylle” with Henry Cavill impresses with its sophisticated investigative work and impressive action scenes. You can find out what else the spy film promises in our film review.
In the tradition of other popular spy films such as the “James Bond” series or well-known action thrillers such as “Die Hard” with Bruce Willis, “Argylle” tells an exciting chase between spies and terrorists. So it’s about good versus evil, but appearances can be deceiving.
The focus is on the secret agent Argylle, played by Henry Cavill, who is actually just a fictional main character in a successful book series. But as the plot becomes reality, the actual author is drawn into her own story. The spy film by director Matthew Vaughn was released in German cinemas on February 1, 2024.

The trailer for “Argylle” already gives viewers a brief insight into the exciting spy film, in which there is no shortage of many people involved such as spies, agents, writers and unknown personalities. Everyone has a big secret in common that is to be revealed over the course of the film.
Argylle: Plot
The author Elly Conway created a successful book series with the stories about the secret agent Argylle. But when Elly suddenly finds herself in the middle of a chase, she has to be rescued by agent Aidan Wilde before the dubious secret service gets their hands on her.
It seems as if Elly describes the real events of the spies in her books and can thus reveal the secret operations of the terrorists. A race against time begins in which Elly has to surpass herself in order to escape her tricky opponents.

“Argylle” was directed by Matthew Vaughn, known for the “Kingsman” series with Colin Firth and the “Kick-Ass” films with Aaron Taylor-Johnson. “Argylle” stars numerous well-known stars, including Henry Cavill (“The Witcher”, “Enola Holmes”) as Agent Argylle, Bryce Dallas Howard (“Jurassic World”) as Elly Conway and Sam Rockwell (“Vice – The Second Man”), as Aidan Wilde.

A captivating spy thriller that doesn’t take itself too seriously
Anyone who already knows the “Kingsman” films by director Matthew Vaughn should not be too surprised by how entertaining and exciting the spy film is with “Argylle”. The film, which is over two hours long, draws viewers into a captivating plot right from the start, which is broken up with numerous action scenes and does not neglect the usual British humor. Nevertheless, the spies’ exciting investigative work does not fall by the wayside and leaves us in the dark until the mystery is solved at the end. A big recommendation for everyone who wants something to laugh about and at the same time is looking forward to being able to guess along with the spy film.
