The Federal Prosecutor’s Office has had two suspected supporters of the Islamic State (IS) jihadist militia arrested in the Gera area in Thuringia. Among other things, they are said to have planned “to kill police officers and other people with firearms in Stockholm in the area of the Swedish parliament,” as the authorities in Karlsruhe announced. One of the men, Ibrahim MG, is said to have joined the IS offshoot Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISPK) from Germany. The province particularly includes Afghanistan and eastern parts of Iran. From then on he is said to have planned an attack on the Swedish Parliament in the capital Stockholm together with the second person arrested, Ramin N.. The accused are scheduled to be brought before the investigating judge at the Federal Court of Justice later today or tomorrow. This must decide on the arrest warrants and the execution of the pre-trial detention.
