Asterix and Obelix: what does the post-credits scene of The Empire of the Middle contain?

Asterix and Obelix, our Gallic superheroes, play it Marvel by giving us a little post-credits scene!

Released on February 1, Asterix and Obelix: The Middle Empire takes us to 50 BC The Empress of China is imprisoned following a coup fomented by Deng Tsin Quin, a traitor prince.

Helped by Graindemaïs, the Phoenician merchant, and by his faithful warrior Tat Han, Princess Fu Yi, only daughter of the Empress, fled to Gaul to ask for help from the two valiant warriors Asterix and Obelix, endowed with superhuman strength thanks to their magic potion.

Our two inseparable Gauls of course agree to help the Princess to save her mother and liberate her country. And here they are all on their way for a great adventure to China. But Caesar and his powerful army, always thirsty for conquest, have also taken over the leadership of the Middle Empire.

With The Middle Empire, Guillaume Canet plays it Marvel by offering us a nice post-credits sequence! To be precise, this is a scene that happens in the middle of the final credits.

After defeating Caesar’s troops and saving Princess Fu Yi, Asterix and Obelix return to their Gallic village to enjoy a well-deserved rest (and meal). As at the end of all comics, the denouement of the film takes place around a gargantuan banquet.

After the animated credits, we find our two heroes at dawn. They are the last at the table, having feasted all night. If the whole village is asleep, Asterix and Obelix continue to eat and drink.

Throughout the story of The Empire of the Middle, the two accomplices have not stopped bickering and looking for trouble. This post-generic scene is therefore placed under the sign of reconciliation.

After having tried to convince Obélix not to eat meat anymore, Asterix decides to forget this resolution and offers a big piece of wild boar to his accomplice. The Gallic tradition is saved!

Obélix, with his usual banter, cries out his friendship to the little Gaul and they end up falling into each other’s arms. But all this noise does not please a villager, who screams that he would like to sleep.

Asterix and Obelix, once again the best friends in the world, laugh like hunchbacks before the final credits start.
