At CES in Las Vegas, Asus presented 42 and 48 inch OLED screens cut for video games.

This Tuesday, during its press conference at CES in Las Vegas, Asus focused on its products geared towards gaming with its ROG range. In addition to a new ROG Zephyrus PC and a ROG Flow 2-in-1 tablet, the Taiwanese manufacturer has also unveiled two new Oled PC monitors for video games.
Known by the sweet names of ROG Swift OLED PG42UQ and PG48UQ, these are 42 and 48 inch diagonal screens respectively. Suffice to say that we are far beyond traditional PC monitors in 24 or 27 inch formats. Especially that we have to do here with classic aspect ratios of 16: 9.
What will above all make it possible to differentiate these two Oled monitors from a conventional television set is the absence of a TV tuner and the functions linked to video games. In addition to the Oled panel used here, Asus has also integrated an anti-reflective coating to limit user discomfort as much as possible. In both cases, we will find a 4K definition with a refresh rate that can go up to 120 Hz. Oled obliges, the contrast promoted by Asus is particularly high, being able to go up to 1,000,000: 1. The same goes for the DCI-P3 color space coverage, measured at 99%, while the colorimetric delta E announced by Asus at the factory outlet is less than 2 and the maximum brightness can go up to 900 cd. / m².
Screens optimized for PC and console gaming
Besides image quality, what will matter most to gamers is the responsiveness of the screen. And as such, the two new monitors launched by the Asian manufacturer can boast a response time of 0.1 ms. Who says screen planned for the game says connectivity at the height and, on this side too, we will find sufficient characteristics. The PG42UQ and PG48UQ thus benefit from two HDMI 2.1 sockets, two HDMI 2.0 sockets, a DisplayPort 1.4 socket and a USB hub. Enough to allow players to enjoy optimal quality up to 4K at 120 Hz. If this configuration may be a little limited on a PC, it is however the best allowed by the latest generation consoles.
For now, Asus has not yet communicated on the prices and availability of its two new screens in France.
