On Saturday evening, brazen thieves targeted the members of the various Krampus groups who were taking part in the big run in Klagenfurt.
While 50,000 visitors in Klagenfurt admired the scary masks at the Krampus Run, unknown perpetrators took advantage of the spectacle to steal from the gruesome mask wearers. Perpetrators sneaked into Halle “A hall in the St. Ruprecht district was converted into a changing room for the members of the participating groups. That’s exactly where the unknown perpetrators sneaked in,” says a police officer. “The thieves stole several hundred euros in cash.” Notes to the police The theft was only noticed after the run. Several of those affected filed a complaint. The police are now asking possible witnesses for information.
