Anyone who has always dreamed of working in the automotive industry for a luxury manufacturer now has the perfect opportunity at Rolls-Royce. This year the British automaker is offering a record 37 apprenticeship positions – the highest number since the program was launched in 2006.
The reasons for the increase in apprenticeship positions are the luxury automaker’s strong sales, new model launches such as the Rolls-Royce Ghost Black Badge and a new generation of luxury electric cars led by the Specter – Rolls-Royce’s first electric car.
Off to the south of England
If you are accepted into the training program, you can call Chichester in southern England, the headquarters of Rolls-Royce, your new home from September 2022. The small town with almost 27,000 inhabitants is not known for its extravagant party life, several times a year the who’s who of the British and international automobile and motorsport scene meet there for the legendary Goodwood festivals.
As soon as you are under the wing of Rolls-Royce, you will stay there for two to four years and complete an apprenticeship that combines both theory and practice. In addition to your paid work at Rolls-Royce, you will be studying part-time at a local college or university. Training and graduation are fully funded by the company.
Of course you can choose between different areas. For example production, where the apprentices receive technical training in the areas of assembly, interior decoration, surface finishing, interior trim and quality management for entire vehicles. But you can also do training in other departments outside of production – including in various management departments. Who knows, maybe you will also have a Rolls-Royce as a business car in the future.
Up the career ladder
For it is not for nothing that Rolls-Royce points out that many trainees work in supervisory, technical and management positions within the company after completing their training. “We have always recognized the importance of investing in future talent, not only to support our own business goals, but also to develop skills and knowledge in the UK luxury industry in general,” said Torsten Müller-Ötvos, Rolls-Royce CEO. “Our apprentices not only receive first-class training in practical manual, technical or commercial skills, but also acquire qualifications and degrees that are fully financed by the company. This is a great opportunity and a really attractive alternative to studying for those who feel comfortable in a practical learning environment. “
Applications are still possible until February 20, 2022 – the basic requirements are a good school leaving certificate and very good knowledge of English. After the application period has expired, successful applicants will be accepted into the training program in September 2022.
