At midnight on February 1st, thanks to double vaccination, the previously green Corona passports of the Linz couple Anita and Werner Neubauer became red – because their Covid disease and recovery on their vacation in Turkey are not officially valid in Austria. The two are now appealing against this discrimination before the Ombudsman.
“Since the two authorities mentioned in this matter are acting contrary to the principles of administration, especially with regard to legality and expediency, we ask the Ombudsman’s Office to help us to obtain our rights as citizens of the Republic of Austria,” the couple wrote to the Ombudsman’s Office. This refers to the Linz Health Department and Ministry of Health. Boosters only recommended after four months. In the absence of registration of the Turkish recovery in January in the local Green Passport, which was proven with PCR laboratory tests, the full immunizations from June 2021 (as with tens of thousands of others) have now expired – but boosters will only be given recommended from four months after recovery. Apparently there is not even a legal basis for non-recognition: arbitrary suspicion!
