15-year-old motorcycle pilot had a fatal accident
Dean Berta Vinales comes from a motorsport-loving finale. Like his cousins, the 15-year-old competes in races on a motorcycle. But in the context of the Superbike World Championship in Jerez, the talent crashes with serious consequences. A little later his death is announced.
Medical care is on site immediately, but for Dean Berta Vinales, any help comes too late. The 15-year-old Spaniard dies after a serious accident during the Superbike World Championship in Jerez, Spain. As eyewitnesses reported, Vinales was involved in a mass crash shortly after the start of the Supersport-300 class and was then run over by several drivers.
The young pilot suffers loudly official announcement “severe head and chest injuries”. Despite immediate treatment “on the track, in the ambulance and in the medical center of the race track”, the motorcycle racing series then has to announce the tragic news: “We are sad to have to announce the death of Dean Berta Vinales.”
Dean Berta Vinales belonged to a racing-loving family, his cousins are the former Moto3 world champion and current MotoGP rider Maverick Vinales and Isaac Vinales, who competes in the Superbike World Championship. For Dean Berta Vinales it was the first season in the Supersport 300 World Championship, he started for the team of Angel Vinales, father of Maverick. The Superbike World Championship writes in a first statement that it is “deeply saddened by the loss” and that Vinales’ “personality, enthusiasm and commitment are massively missed”.
All other races of the day on the Circuito Permanente de Jerez in southern Spain will be canceled immediately. “It’s always tragic when a racing driver has to leave us,” says the Swiss driver Dominique Aegerter of the “Blick”, a Swiss tabloid: “He was still such a young driver, a talent.” He was also reminded of the tragic death of Jason Dupasquier. The 19-year-old Swiss also fell, was run over and died of his injuries in Mugello, Italy in May. “It’s just been a lot lately. It shouldn’t be.”
