Atlus briefly discusses Project Re Fantasy, talks about a pillar game to be released in 2022

2021 is almost over, and it is now time for Japanese developers to post their traditional end-of-year greetings, which sometimes allow us to learn a little more about the projects to come. Famitsu took care of posting dozens of greetings from various creators, and it’s here Atlus which interests us more particularly, with the mention of Project Re Fantasy.

One or more big projects for Atlus in 2022?

Project Re Fantasy, it’s a game that we don’t know much about at the moment, although it was revealed five long years ago now. A real Arlesian for Atlus, which could however become more concrete in 2022 if we are to believe the wishes of Katsura Hashino, creative producer, who says about his ambitions for the year 2022:

Now is the time to develop something completely new at Atlus. The development of Project Re Fantasy, which was announced a few years ago, is finally in good condition despite the twists and turns.

Added to this are the words of Shinjiro takada, product manager at Atlus, who declares:

I choose the word “challenge” as a keyword for 2022, with the hope of releasing a game that will become a pillar for Atlus. Everyone at Atlus is working hard to make this game interesting and satisfying for everyone, so please pay attention.

He adds that an announcement will take place in 2022, and if he does not explicitly speak of Re Fantasy Project like Katsura Hashino, we can easily make the connection. Unless we are talking about a possible Persona 6, which could happen for the 25 years of the saga, but we will avoid dreaming too much. This mysterious project could also be Project Pen, whose name was registered recently.

Re Fantasy Project could therefore resurface very soon, and finally show us what this mysterious game looks like.
