PARIS, October 4 (Reuters) –

The split of the Atos group, initially planned for the second half of 2023, will be effective on July 1, 2023, we learned on Tuesday from a spokesperson for the group, confirming information from BFM Business.

“The two legal entities will be separated on July 1, 2023,” said the spokesperson.

“It is quite logical that there are two different boards of directors, for these two separate entities”, she added while BFM Business also reported that Bertrand Meunier, chairman of the board of directors of the IT services group would step down next summer once this split is complete.

Atos had announced almost simultaneously in June a plan to split its activities before probable disposals and the departure of its managing director, Rodolphe Belmer, leading to a new movement of mistrust on the stock market and the anger of some of its shareholders.

Bertrand Meunier has been the target of criticism since the group’s financial rout.

Atos won 7% around 09:45 (07:45 GMT) on the Paris Stock Exchange, among the highest rises in the SBF 120. (Written by Myriam Rivet, edited by Matthieu Protard and Kate Entringer)
