PARIS, June 13 (Reuters) – Atos, which is due to announce a strategic plan on Tuesday, plans to isolate its IT services business into a separate legal entity, BFM Business reported on Monday, without citing its source.

“This new company, which will remain housed in Atos, will have a separate governance and balance sheet, in order to manage it independently”, is it specified in the article published on the site of BFM Business, which underlines that this declining division weighs on the group’s results.

Hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, Atos suffered a series of setbacks which led to the departure of its chief executive Elie Girard, replaced by Rodolphe Belmer at the start of the year.

The title of the company lost 6% at the opening of the Paris Stock Exchange.

A spokesperson for Atos was not immediately available to comment on the BFM Business article.

Atos shares have lost more than 60% of their value over the last twelve months.
