Duchess Meghan (42) chatted about being a mother and her children Prince Archie (5) and Princess Lilibet (2). The 42-year-old spoke during a panel discussion in Nigeria according to People magazine about the compatibility of children and career.

According to the report, the Duchess of Sussex recalled asking her former mentor, NBCUniversal’s Bonnie Hammer, 74, the question years ago while filming the series “Suits.” According to Meghan, she asked Hammer how to find balance. “And she said, ‘You don’t, you’ll never find balance.’ Prince Harry’s wife (39) continued: “And that was before I was married, before I had children, before all the things in my life took a turn.”

“Two beautiful, healthy, very talkative, sweet children”

This conversation with Bonnie Hammer impressed her, said Meghan, according to People, and stayed with her for a long time because she thought to herself: “How can you be so successful? And then she’s also a mother and married, and she says you’ll never find balance. How does life feel when it’s unbalanced?” Meghan herself thinks that the balance is always changing and shifting, she said. “And so it’s always been a dream of mine to be a mother. And I’m so happy that we have two beautiful, healthy, very talkative, sweet children.” She added: “I love being a mother.”

On the first day of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s trip to Nigeria, Meghan also spoke about her children while visiting a school in Abuja. While chatting with a group of students, she recounted a recent conversation she had with her daughter Lilibet. “Our daughter Lili is much, much smaller than you. She’s about to be three years old. And a few weeks ago she looked at me and saw her reflection in my eyes. And she said, ‘Mom, I see myself in you'” , Meghan told the class.

Her daughter meant that literally. “But I took those words in a completely different way,” Meghan said. “And I thought: Yes, I see myself in you, and you see me in you.” During the visit, Meghan also shared her children’s favorite activities. Accordingly, Lili loves singing and dancing and Archie loves tinkering around.

For Harry and Meghan, the three-day stay in Nigeria is the first major tour since the two stepped down as senior members of the royal family and moved to the USA in 2020. They live in California with their two children.
