Novak Djokovic looked ailing in the round of 16 at Paris-Bercy and struggled in the three-set match against Tallon Griekspoor.

Grand Slam record winner Novak Djokovic only reached the quarterfinals of the ATP 1000 tournament in Paris-Bercy with great difficulty. The Serbian world number one appeared to be in poor health and had to give up the first set against the Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor (ATP 23).

After this deficit, the 36-year-old found his way into the game better and defeated his 13-year-younger opponent 4:6, 7:6 (7:2), 6:4 after 2:39 hours. Djokovic will be playing at an ATP tournament in Paris for the first time since his US Open triumph in mid-September.

Tsitsipas beats Zverev

In a duel between two top ten players, Stefanos Tsitsipas prevailed. The Greek (ATP 6) beat Alexander Zverev (ATP 9) in two sets 7:6 (7:2), 6:4. In the first round, Zverev repeatedly had problems with his forehand, his opponent played more consistently and secured the set. The German got off to a bad start in the second round, immediately conceded the break and fell behind. After 1:58 hours, Tsitsipas used his 3rd match point to win, which also secured him a place at the ATP Finals in Turin.

Andrej Rublew (ATP 5) moved dominantly into the quarter-finals, the Russian defeated the Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp (ATP 60) 6:3, 6:3 in just 65 minutes. The last round of 16 between Holger Rune (ATP 7) and Daniel Altmaier (ATP 54) starts on Wednesday shortly before 11 p.m. and is expected to last until the night again.
