Last January, Camille Kouchner denounced the incestuous acts of her father-in-law, the political scientist Olivier Duhamel, in an event book entitled “La Familia grande”. Since then, the author has been drowning in letters from similar testimonies.
Literary, political and societal earthquake, the publication of the book La Familia grande reveals the sexual abuse suffered for several years by the twin brother of author Camille Kouchner. The accused is their own stepfather, Professor Emeritus Olivier Duhamel. The scale of the scandal, and its late eruption decades after the fact, will have the greatly positive effect of serving for the liberation of speech. “What this book provoked from my family’s point of view is irrelevant. What is interesting, this is the movement that triggered“, insists Camille Kouchner in the columns of The Obs, Wednesday January 5. Twelve months after the publication of her writings, the lawyer reveals to have received “very much“of letters, relating”atrocious situations“.
With emotion, the one who broke the omerta explains that there is “several types of letters“:”First, sometimes very old people talk about, sometimes for the first time, the incest they have suffered. […] Then people tell me about the book itself […] Finally, there are letters that are much harder to read, those from people currently facing incest: parents or grandparents who are worried about a child, have not seen it for five years, do not know. do not come out …“
Heartbreaking words from readers
“A lady wrote to me: ‘Your’ Familia grande ‘didn’t care much about you, but you have enlarged the family and we are going to take care of you.’ It moves me, this letter“, indicates Camille Kouchner. Last April, auditioned by the brigade for the protection of minors, Olivier Duhamel was confessed. In October, the case was dismissed… Because of prescription.
