Great luck for Abdelkarim. The comedian was training in a Duisburg gym up to 20 minutes before yesterday’s attack.
After yesterday’s attack in a gym in Duisburg, concerns about comedy star Abdelkarim (41) arose on the Internet. It was feared that the comedian, who recently also took part in the RTL dance show “Let’s Dance”, was also among the victims of the attack, in which four people were injured, some of them extremely seriously. Later today, however, Abdelkarim himself gave the all-clear on Instagram.
Abdelkarim: “I’m not affected”
“Thank you for your questions. Luckily I’m not affected by the attack in the Duisburg gym,” the 41-year-old said to his more than 50,000 followers on Wednesday. However, Abdelkarim seems to have been very lucky. As the TV star continues to write, he trained yesterday in the Duisburg studio of the John Reed fitness chain, but left there “about 20 minutes before the attack”.
In the same post, Abdelkarim calls the attack by one or more unknown perpetrators “nevertheless hard and cannot be put into words”. The comedian wishes the four injured “a lot of strength” and hopes “that they will feel better very soon”.
