Aude: the corpse of a fetus discovered in a suitcase

A chilling discovery. A septuagenarian found in her garden, in Limoux (Aude), a suitcase containing a very small body, probably that of a fetus, or a newborn, decomposing.

Living on a large property, it was the person taking care of his garden who spotted the luggage on Wednesday January 26.

He then alerted the owner of the premises, who joined him to open it. “We joked about it, telling ourselves that if it was money, we would share it,” she told L’Indépendant, still horrified. Because the content was unfortunately very different.

The lady describes seeing “a small mass wrapped in a cloth. (…) I immediately called a doctor friend who told me that at first sight it was a fetus. There I rocked in the horror ”. An autopsy performed in Montpellier has indeed ruled out the possibility that the corpse is that of an animal. The prosecution confirmed that it was indeed a fetus, or even a newborn.

For these “sufficiently serious facts”, the public prosecutor was seized. Judicial information has been opened and the gendarmes of the Montpellier research section will investigate to find out in particular whether the body lived or whether it is a stillborn, who abandoned it in the garden and why. .
