Auroria: a Palworld clone in the spotlight, Pocketpair speaks

At a time when the race for clicks is fiercer than ever on the Internet, mass distortions of comments are legion, whether intentional or not. This is how we discovered a certain Auroria, MMO developped by Tianjin Wumai Technologyformerly known as Project Stars following its announcement in 2022, even Outerland. Available on mobile (Android in the West), it should soon see the light of day on PC via Steam. You can discover a cinematic teaser trailer below and two other videos at the end of the article, including one of gameplay which is far from being as exciting it must be admitted.

It all started with a tweet from Takuro Mizobe, the CEO of Pocketpair at the origin of Palworlda phenomenon game from the beginning of the year which has been accused of plagiarism towards the license Pokemon. His message in Japanese mentions the fact that Tencent is creating a clone of Palworld, complete with a screenshot from Auroria. It appears that the Chinese mobile version is the result of a collaboration between Hero Games And Tencent, Tianjin Wumai Technology not being mentioned. Without speaking Chinese, it’s difficult to get more precise details, but that’s not the point anyway.

He then declared that in China several companies are currently developing clones of his game, but with budgets ten times greater than his own. He concludes by predicting that next year will see the arrival on the market of many games with monsters or beautiful girls having the quality of Genshin Impact. Regardless, at no time does he seem to harbor any animosity, but some wanted to ride on the negativity to attract readers… THE Global Community Manager of Pocketpair called Bucky commented in English on this story with an equally benevolent comment.

Here is the translation of what he said:

To echo what Takuro said, it’s truly amazing how quickly companies like Tencent started creating clones of Palworld.

The budget of some of these clones is also incredible!

2025 will be the year of Palworld and Helldivers clones, and even though most of them will be mobile games that many Western gamers won’t play, I still think it’s pretty incredible. We know of a few already in development, so it will be interesting to see what kind of twists and turns they take to make them more suitable for the mobile audience.

Now the real question is… who will be the first company to create a mobile clone of Palworld where the gacha are cute girls instead of monsters?

I’m sure someone is working on it.

You would have understood it, Pocketpair does not come to cry plagiarism contrary to what is propagated by some, quite the contrary. To drive the point home, this same Bucky has answered to the article ofInsiderGaming confirming that there were no accusations and that they are quite excited about these clones. Finally, it was Takuro Mizobe who spoke in English indicating that he does not accuse anyone.

To “accuse” someone of something is to say that they are doing something wrong.
I don’t think what Tencent is doing is bad.

I’m proud that other companies want to make games like Palworld. The industry historically innovates when we borrow ideas from the games we love.

I’m surprised that many high-quality mobile games are already in development.

This is my original post. I didn’t accuse.

If you want to discover Palworldit’s sold on Steam in Early Access priced at €28.99. You can also play it by subscribing to PC/Xbox Game Pass Ultimate from €14.99 for one month on Amazon, to the Fnac Or at the house of Cdiscount.
