Australia: 3-year-old girl hospitalized after kangaroo attack

A 3-year-old Australian girl has suffered major lacerations after being attacked by a kangaroo this week. The drama took place in Armidale, New South Wales.

The facts occurred this Thursday, March 17. New South Wales medical teams were called at around 5.30pm by someone informing them that a 3-year-old girl had suffered a ‘terrifying’ kangaroo attack.

The witness said the attack took place when the kangaroo climbed onto a back porch of a property where the child was at the time, as reported by British newspaper The Guardian.

A rescue helicopter, an intensive care doctor and two paramedics were sent to the scene minutes after the attack.

She is currently in stable condition in hospital where she is undergoing further treatment, according to Australian media 9news.

“This is a reminder to everyone of how unpredictable wild animals can be,” he warned.
