Moto2: Ogura wins after exciting duel

In the final corners of the Moto2 race at the Austrian Grand Prix in Spielberg, a duel broke out between leader Ai Ogura (JPN) and Thailand’s Somkiat Chantra, who attempted another attack late on. But the Japanese on Kalex was able to defend his lead against his team-mate from Honda Team Asia and ultimately secured victory and thus the championship lead. The previous world championship leader Augusto Fernandez (ESP), recently victorious three times in a row, was only fifth and is now one point behind in the overall standings.

Moto3: Sasaki wins after catching up

Two long lap penalties threw Husqvarna rider Ayumu Sasaki way back in the Moto3 race in Austria. But from outside the top 20, the Japanese started to catch up, overtook competitor after competitor and in the end raced across the finish line in first place. For Sasaki it was the 2nd victory after Assen. Tatsuki Suzuki (JPN) and David Munoz (ESP) completed the podium.
