Avalanche Studio is working on a new license in addition to Contraband

After being illustrated on the saga Just Cause, Avalanche Studios obviously wanted a change of scenery and had announced to us last year the development of Contraband, an Xbox exclusive that we still know little about, except that it will focus on cooperative play. But this is obviously not the only new license in the studio’s boxes.

Full of projects in preparation?

The information comes to us from Paul Rustchynsky, who is game designer within Avalanche Studios, who posted a tweet (spotted by our colleagues at XboxSquad) highlighting the studio’s new premises in Liverpool. He then specifies in response to another tweet that the studio is well at work on another new license in addition to Contraband :

We are working on another new license which has not yet been announced. There are more projects in development at Avalanche than people think!

This response not only tells us that a new license, apparently in the works since last year, and about to be revealed in 2022, but also that other projects are underway at Avalanche Studios. We’ll let you speculate on the identity of these games, but it’s not impossible that a new Just Cause or at least under discussion, unless the studio really decides to put aside the series.
