You haven’t seen “Avatar: The Way of Water” in the cinema yet? Then you probably belong to a small minority in Germany, because the science fiction sequel by James Cameron is now officially the most successful film of all time in this country.
Globally, “Avatar 2” still has to be content with third place, but that may change in the coming weeks. In Germany, even the entire top 3 of the most successful films are in the hands of James Cameron, who is sending us a greeting together with producer Jon Landau.
“Avatar: The Way of Water” brought in more than 129 million euros in Germany within 68 days. A considerable sum, but you have to keep in mind that going to the cinema is becoming more and more expensive. In Germany, the success of a film is usually measured by the number of viewers, but Disney’s “The Jungle Book” has been in the lead here for decades.
Either way, of course, there’s no doubting the success of “Avatar 2”. Now, of course, the question arises as to whether “Avatar 3” can also build on this success in 2025, but it is now clear to everyone: You should never doubt James Cameron and his films!
