The writers’ strike is starting to really make itself felt. Disney has just announced mass postponements for many films from its main cinematographic sagas.
In a happier register, Avatar: The Way of the Waterjust arrived on Canal+.
A few announcements, but mostly postponements
Since the start of the writers’ strike on 1er last May, the (known) consequences remained relatively light for the release schedule. Some series have certainly seen their future seasons postponed, but the biggest piece has certainly just fallen: Disney. The firm has just announced multiple upheavals for the films of its Marvel, 20th Century or Lucasfilm studios. Of course, all dates below are subject to change.
On the Marvel side first, Captain America: Brave New World will finally be released on July 26, 2024 instead of May 3, 2024. More importantly, Thunderbolts is postponed by 5 months and will finally arrive on December 20, 2024. Same thing for Bladepushed back from June 2024 to February 2025. Fantastic Four does not escape the postponements and will therefore arrive in May 2025 and not in February of the same year. Unsurprisingly, future films avengersto know The Kang Dynasty (which will obviously retain actor Jonathan Majors despite the accusations against him) and Secret Wars, are also postponed by one year, respectively from May 2025 to May 2026 and from May 2026 to May 2027.
The good news is that Deadpool 3has decided to release earlier than planned: see you in theaters at the beginning of May 2024 and not in November.

Re Star WarsLucasfilm has not offered a film since The Rise of Skywalker in 2019. In order to make up for that, not one, but two movies will be released in 2026. One will arrive in May, the other in December. One of them should be the film carried by Daisy Ridley and her character of Rey.
Finally, in addition to revealing that the live action version of Moana will arrive in June 2025 and that a movie Alien will land in August 2024, Disney had bad news for the sequelsAvatar. Avatar 3 will only finally arrive in December 2025 and not 2024. This one-year lag seriously affects Avatar 4 And Avatar 5both postponed for three (!) years. Avatar 4 will finally arrive only in December 2029 and Avatar 5 in December 2031.
