Baccalaureate: Emmanuel Macron announces a big change for the specialty tests: Current Woman Le MAG

A few days before the next school year scheduled for Monday, September 4, 2023, a change was mentioned for final year students. The reform of the baccalaureate exam put in place by Jean-Michel Blanquer will be slightly modified, and this after only a year of testing. This new version could not be applied before, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. According to information revealed on Sunday August 27, 2023 by The Parisian, the head of the French government consulted with his team at the Élysée Palace and made an important decision for future baccalaureate candidates. Indeed, the written tests focused on the two main subjects of the students will no longer be scheduled during the month of March. These will now take place in June as soon as the new measure comes into force in 2024.

An adjusted schedule to respond to a major problem

As our colleagues from the Parisianthis decision is a response to the numerous questions and disputes raised by the teaching staff and the parents of students about possible secondments of candidates for their classrooms during the third term.
Indeed, many 12th graders are completely unmotivated to go to class once the March exams are over and prefer to either stay home or go out. It is for this main reason that Emmanuel Macron and his team wish to overcome this problem. The government had two solutions: postpone the exams in June or rebalance the coefficients for the June exams such as the baccalaureate oral examination or philosophy. After a meeting held on Wednesday August 23, 2023 at the Élysée Palace, the President of the French Republic selected the first option. While waiting for this measure to be applied and to obtain further details, Gabriel Attal, the Minister of National Education and Youth of France will give a press conference focused on the start of the school year this Monday, August 28, 2023.
