Back in prison – escaped prisoner (16) caught after a week

A week ago, a 16-year-old prisoner who was in the Gerasdorf prison in Lower Austria escaped. Now he could be tracked down and arrested in Vienna. A teenager (17) is suspected of having hidden him.

The boy fled on November 13th during a medical examination at the Wiener Neustadt State Hospital. On Monday afternoon, the 16-year-old was arrested in Vienna-Ottakring and taken back to the Gerasdorf prison. A 17-year-old from Wiener Neustadt was identified as a suspect on suspicion of favoritism. She didn’t confess. After the investigation has been completed, she will be reported to the Wiener Neustadt public prosecutor’s office, the police said.
