Baldur’s Gate 3: big player numbers and great news for players

Baldur’s Gate 3 caused a sensation last summer with the launch of version 1.0 on PC then on PlayStation 5, the RPG has since been ported to Xbox Series X|S, but success was clearly not guaranteed. The franchise is no longer young and sales have stagnated during theEarly Access.

It was only after the release of the full version that Baldur’s Gate 3 enjoyed enormous commercial success, it brought in a lot of money Hasbro which owns the Dungeons & Dragons franchise. This week, publishing director Micheal Douse published several messages on X/Twitterrevealing in particular that Baldur’s Gate 3 quickly grew from 2 to 10 million players.

A figure revealed in the context of another announcement. Larian Studios working on a tool modding official cross-platformPC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S players will be able to benefit from mods of the community during the year 2024. Some fans expressed their dissatisfaction in a virulent manner, certain patches would cause compatibility issues with mods unofficial, Michael Douse therefore asks everyone to remain polite and not threaten the developers with Larian Studios.
