Conspiracy theories about evil forces secretly doing cruel things are not new. They are particularly shocking when it comes to child abuse. In December, an SRF documentary on this subject caused bewilderment.
Because in it people say that there are secret circles in Switzerland that hold brutal rituals. There was talk of satanists who would slaughter babies and children and then drink their blood. There isn’t a single piece of evidence to support this claim – yet there seem to be many people who believe in it. Among them even doctors, police officers and teachers.
Senior Physician Matthias Kollmann: “Unimaginable acts of violence are happening”(00:29)
«Satan Masses in secret corridor systems»
The film made waves and had serious consequences for the protagonists: Matthias Kollmann, senior physician at the trauma ward at the Littenheid Clinic in the canton of Thurgau, was released immediately after publication. Now it also affects primary school teacher Verena F.* from Basel.
In an interview with SRF, she said: “Children and young people – especially women – are regularly killed and slaughtered in Satanic masses.” These fairs would be held under the Dorneck SO castle ruins in a secret system of passages. F.’s school did not accept the teacher’s statements and felt compelled to act.
School distances itself from statements
The president of the school board told the “BZ Basel” that it was agreed on Wednesday to “mutually” terminate the employment relationship at the end of the school year. Until then, the teacher will remain free. “The primary school distances itself in all forms from the personal statements made by the employee in the SRF report,” the school board president continued.
Participation and statements in the documentary were already fatal to a secondary school teacher from Basel. The school broke up with him just days after it aired. School board member Patrick Borer told the “Basler Zeitung”: “He will no longer give lessons at our school.” (gin)
