Basketball: LeBron James, Steph Curry and Kevin Durant will lead a new “Dream Team” to the Olympics

LeBron James, Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, but also Joel Embiid or Jayson Tatum: the biggest stars of the NBA will form, as expected, a new “Dream Team” for the basketball tournament of the Paris Olympic Games this summer, confirm Tuesday from American specialized media.

LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant…

According to ESPN and The Athletic, USA Basketball has already selected 11 of the 12 players who will try to restore the image of their selection, which finished the 2023 World Cup in a pitiful 4th place, by retaining the Olympic title, which did not escape to the Americans since their bronze medal in 2004 in Athens, where Argentina was crowned.

Alongside Lakers superstar LeBron James, who had several times expressed his wish to attract big names from the NBA to Paris, Warriors fullback Stephen Curry will participate in his first Olympic tournament. They will find Phoenix winger Kevin Durant, present at the Games continuously since 2012, and a fourth NBA MVP (best player, in 2023) in the person of Philadelphia pivot Joel Embiid, recently naturalized.

The 12th and last place in the selection not yet allocated

The interior of the Lakers Anthony Davis and that of Miami Bam Adebayo, the two Boston players Jayson Tatum and Jrue Holiday, Durant’s teammate at Phoenix Devin Booker, and the young Anthony Edwards and Tyrese Haliburton, the only survivors of the team from World Cup-2023, will make up the rest of the squad coached by Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr.

The 12th and final place in the selection has not yet been allocated. According to The Athletic, it could go to Los Angeles Clippers winger Kawhi Leonard.
