Two ham references from Carrefour and Auchan distributors are the subject of a recall, caused by the presence of listeria, the agent responsible for listeriosis. The two product recalls were published on the government website Rappel Conso on Monday.
In detail, the two products targeted are the superior cooked ham with rind 2 slices 80g from the Extra Carrefour brand (lot 1127870, to be consumed before January 2, 2023), and the defatted superior ham without rind 4 slices from the Auchan brand (batch 1129104, to be consumed before December 31, 2022). They were sold in the supermarkets of the two brands throughout France.

For people who hold products belonging to the batches concerned, it is advisable to destroy them or to have them reimbursed, by bringing them back to the store. As for people who have consumed these products, and who have fever, headaches or aches, they are invited to consult their doctor and report this consumption.

“Pregnant women as well as immunocompromised people and the elderly should be especially alert to these symptoms.“, can we read on the product recall sheets. These symptoms can indeed evoke a listeriosis, “disease that can be serious and whose incubation period can be up to eight weeks“, it is specified.
Several capon references must also be brought back to the store, for the same risk of listeriosis. These are thighs, stir-fries and vacuum cuts, halal and non-halal, from the Le Gaulois Professionnel brand.
