Bathroom hacks: 5 things to do before someone walks into your bathroom

The bathroom says a lot about a person. And that's why: We do these 5 things every time before we even let anyone into our bathroom.

The bathroom is one of the most underrated rooms in an apartment. Sounds weird? Then just think about how many peculiarities of you could be seen in your four tiled walls. What we're getting at: We feel comfortable in our own bathroom, at home and leave everything where it belongs. That is exactly why it is a very private place that not everyone should get to see in their original state.

At the same time there is that moment when you walk into the bathroom of someone else's apartment and think to yourself: Hui, it looks good here! How did you do that?

That's exactly what we want. And there is no rocket science behind making your own bathroom look like in a hotel and you don't have to install a rain shower or new marble tiles. Instead, details are incredibly important in the bathroom. We'll tell you how your bathroom is always ready to visit – and how you can get the most out of it with minimal effort.

5 bathroom hacks for unannounced visit

Look in the mirror

Do toothbrushes look back? Don't worry, with us too. You tend to overlook it yourself, but guests are less likely to overlook them – and a clean mirror makes the whole room look tidier. So: Simply store the glass cleaner in the closet and wipe it over once.

Do the towel check

Do you know the moment when you walk into someone else's bathroom and suddenly stand there with wet hands because you don't know where to dry them? Don't embarrass your guests about having to dry themselves on your shower towel – always have a small towel hanging by the sink that you change automatically every few days. Incidentally, white towels should subconsciously convey an impression of cleanliness!

Everything to which your DNA sticks is allowed to go

In other words: toothbrushes, razors and a brush full of unusual hair are not the most delicious sight for guests. And somehow a little too intimate for us too, right? It's best to put them in a drawer.

Take a deep breath, please

How does it smell? The bathroom is predestined for unpleasant smells. And the matchbox next to the toilet isn't that sexy either – swap it for a few pleasant scents, like those of a plant or a room scent. But be careful, it shouldn't be too intrusive either.

The rule of the day

When it comes to cleaning, more is more. In the sense of: more often. Because if you do a little every day, you save yourself the big work on the one hand, and the moment of panic when suddenly visitors arrive at the door on the other. There are a few things you should incorporate into your daily routine: Have a rag with you to wipe over the faucet on the sink and the mirror in the evening. And use the foam of small toilet tabs after the wash cycle to scrub the bowl once with the brush. Goes incredibly fast, also has a very clean effect.
