Veteran vs Superfan, Season 1 Sala Dwellers vs Late Starters. In the finale of “Battle of the Reality Stars” the situation comes to a head.
“Ass flapping and thin shit” with Serkan Yavuz (29). That means: finale on “Kampf der Realitystars” (Wednesday, June 14, 8:15 p.m. on RTLzwei, also on RTL+). As a super fan of the show, who is there for a symbolic fee of one euro, he knows what to expect in the last few games. So he cramms facts about the show that are often queried in the final. He not only counts the steps of the stairs, but also the light bulbs that illuminate them.
In the tenth and final episode, only eight candidates are left in the sala. In addition to Serkan, these are Eva Benetatou (31), Bernd Kieckhäben (32), Matthias Mangiapane (39), Emmy Russ (24), Sascha Sirtl (45), Peggy Jerofke (47) and Lukas Baltruschat (28).
Three of them are screened out in the first game of the finals broadcast. The reality stars have to solve a picture puzzle, they have to assemble the answer from letters that are sunk in a slime bath. Emmy, Peggy and Matthias are the slowest candidates and are eliminated.
Before the final five are further decimated, they are grilled – by their former roommates. In a kind of press conference, the eliminated candidates Eva, Bernd, Sascha, Serkan and Lukas can feel the tooth. After all, they are the ones who ultimately decide on the title of reality star of the year.
Only “four worthy finalists”: Pervical attacks Serkan
The ex-participants deal benevolently with the title aspirants. Except for Percival Duke. The singer had already made sure in a row nine that the prize money melted from 50,000 to 40,000 euros. He left the show for a settlement of 10,000 euros. Even now, the Percival is making every effort to be remembered as the supervillain of the season. He cuts Serkan and only speaks of four “worthy” finalists. The reason: Serkan had dared to mildly criticize Percival’s compensation move.
Before the eliminated reality stars make their choice, the remaining five must compete in the final game. 90 coins were hidden in the sala. The three candidates who find the most of these are in the final. The celebrities take it in turns to go on a treasure hunt, starting with whoever is closest to the correct answer to the guessing question in each new round.
Serkan benefits from his meticulous preparation here. He is the only one who can correctly name how many cameras in the sala tracked everything and everyone. Serkan is the first to find ten coins and advances to the final. Eva catches up after a weak start and follows him. Sascha qualifies last, Bernd and Lukas fail just before the finish line.
One-euro TV tourist, returned veteran or only woman in the final?
So it is decided between Eva, Sascha and Serkan. Different narratives collide. One-euro jobber Serkan was the first reality star to arrive at Star Beach this season. For him, the title of reality star of the year would be the greatest thing of all, before that he pulled out all the stops as an entertainer, which he (rightly) sees himself as.
Sascha is the reality veteran making his TV comeback. He went into hiding for 18 years after winning “Big Brother” in 2005. At that time he had stayed in the mother of all reality formats for a year and won one million euros. The money was gone quickly.
And Eva markets herself as the only woman in the final. Your unique selling proposition turns out to be the weakest of the finalists. She stays behind quickly.
Giulia Siegel tips the scales
It remains tight between Serkan and Sascha until the end. A clear pattern was discernible. The candidates who have been there since the first episode tended to choose Serkan, their comrade-in-arms from the start. Even Daniel Schmidt (39), whom Serkan had ignored insulted by many consequences, votes for him. Those who moved later choose Sascha, including his twin brother Jay, of course.
Giulia Siegel (48) tips the scales. When she starts last, Sascha and Serkan are level. Giulia would have liked to give her coin to Eva, but she wants to make a decision. She chooses Serkan. He breaks down crying with happiness. His lifelong dream has actually come true. It’s a little ridiculous, but also a little touching.
