Beauty innovations put to the test | BRIGITTE.de

News alert! There are plenty of beauty novelties again this month – we've tested five of them for you. Are they worth the hype or totally overrated? We'll tell you …

Clinique Even Better All-Over Concealer + Eraser

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5 stars)

Product: The Even Better All-Over Concealer + Eraser from Concealer has an oil-free, light formulation and promises up to twelve hours of hold. Dark circles under the eyes and other discolorations should also be minimized with frequent use. And: It has an integrated sponge applicator for blending.

Optics: The packaging is super clean – and that's exactly what I like. The integrated applicator is hidden in the upper part of the lid and is hardly noticeable. I particularly like the shape of the applicator, as it is more rounded at the front and not elongated. Perfect for dosing!

Application: I only dab the concealer on the areas under the eye where I have discoloration – more in the inner corner. I first blend the product with my finger or a brush, only then do I use the applicator in the lid again, as it is not so soft at first.

Result: Fortunately, I don't have very strong dark circles, but the concealer still has really good coverage. My eye area looks fresh and I don't even have to powder the concealer. It doesn't slip into the creases or simply disappears during the day.

Price-performance: The concealer costs about 29 euros and contains 6 ml. Sure, this is not the cheapest concealer, but you really need very little product here. That's why I have a clear recommendation.

Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5 stars)

Product: Plump lips without an injection? Sounds too good to be true and yet that's exactly the promise of the Lip Injection Extreme lip gloss from Too Faced. The active ingredients ensure that the lips are better supplied with blood and appear fuller. A sensual pout should be granted to everyone.

Optics: The packaging makes hearts beat faster. Especially the gold-colored cap with ornaments looks super classy and is a real eye-catcher in the handbag.

Application: The applicator does its job really well. It is a little flatter so that the gloss can be applied super easy and not too big to reach narrow areas. The gloss itself has the ideal consistency and spreads perfectly on the lips.

Result: As soon as the gloss is on your lips, it starts to tingle. Good thing, because the product works! And – tadaaa! – the lips are so well supplied with blood that they not only look plumped up and full, but also the natural lip color appears richer. The light pink shade of my gloss underlines that of course again. I liked the prickling very much, but I could imagine that it might be a bit too extreme for one or the other.

Price-performance: At 28 euros, the product is really not a bargain. I really liked the effect, so I would probably invest the money. I still deduct one point for the hammer price!

KIKO Green Me Gentle Facial Cleanser

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5 stars)

Product: Soft and cleansed skin, wrapped in a pleasant feeling of freshness – that is what the Green Me Facial Cleanser from KIKO promises. Even make-up and residues and impurities should be removed by the gentle gel texture and it develops a pleasant scent.

Optics: For the sake of the environment, the packaging consists of ecological cardboard, biological residues from citrus fruits and wood. The tube lies comfortably in the hand and feels high quality. The design is kept simple and clean, only the name and the brand were printed on the front. The only drawback: the lid has to be opened and closed – a hinged lid would be more practical.

Application: After having roughly removed my make-up with a make-up remover, I mostly use the gel in combination with a face brush. I apply it to the brush and then massage it into my skin in a circular motion. When I'm done, I wash the residue from the cleaner off my face with lukewarm water.

Result: The cleanser actually manages to remove all makeup residue from the face. The skin feels clean and purified, but unfortunately it tenses after use and the smell is not quite my taste either.

Price-performance: At 8 euros, the Facial Cleanser is not one of the most expensive products I've tested so far. The ingredients are very natural and the gel does not contain any alcohol – which I think is great. The cleanser does what it promises, leaving the skin clean and clean. However, I am subtracting one star because of the impractical lid and the smell. But that's a matter of taste, as you know.

Zauberblick BROWFIXX

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5 stars)

Product: The BROWFIXX eyebrow gel from Zauberblick (the brand belongs to the Hamburger Beautystudio Zauberblick) is supposed to thicken the eyebrows and give them hold – but without looking painted. The special ball brush takes care of that.

Optics: The subtle, black packaging looks super noble and valuable in the hand. The long handle on the brush makes it really easy to work with.

Application: Since my brows are relatively full anyway, I don't need a lot of product for my eyebrows anyway. I apply the gel first from the middle of the brows to the end and then only in the front part of the brows.

Result: As promised – the result is super natural. It neither looks painted nor as if I have a lot on my eyebrows. Important to know: The gel is NOT matt, but contains shimmer particles. This gives the brows a little more optical dimension.

Price-performance: At around 35 euros, the brow gel is not the cheapest in my collection, but it is definitely different. The shimmer actually makes my eyebrows super natural and they still look defined. If you are looking for exactly that, you can definitely spend the 35 euros. If a secure hold is more important to you, you should perhaps switch to another product. I deduct one point for the lack of support.

Make Up Factory Touch of Teal Eyeshadow Palette

⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3/5 stars)

Product: The Make Up Factory Touch of Teal Eyeshadow Palette promises a particularly high level of pigmentation and optimal coverage – even with the first application. In addition, the metallic eye shadow colors in particular should have a high luminosity.

Optics: The pallet has a black packaging and is decorated with silver, graphic details that shimmer in the light. There is a mirror inside. The individual jars of the eyeshadow are square. The palette includes ten eyeshadow colors, five matte and five shimmering. Everything from beige to petrol is included.

Application: Before applying the eyeshadow, I use a neutral primer to optimally prepare my eyelid. I fix this with the matt beige shade from the palette. Then I use the warm, matt colors of the palette and accent the movable lid with a light, shimmering shade. In order to get an even more intense result, I apply the shimmer tone wet.

Result: The individual colors look really nice in the palette. However, the pigmentation is not as intense as promised. To be able to build up the opacity, I have to apply all the eyeshadow colors several times. The shimmering colors are very weakly pigmented in the dry application and do not have the desired luminosity even after moistening. The colors used also leave a lot of powder residue in the pan. In order to get an opaque and perfect result, time must definitely be planned for assembly.

Price-performance: The pallet costs around 20 euros. Although the colors in the palette are all very pretty, they don't perform as well on the lid as hoped. For the price, there are some palettes that can do more with the opacity. Unfortunately, I subtract two stars for that. However, if the color selection is 100% convincing, you can safely invest the 20 euros and then have to plan more time for make-up.
