Whether celebrities, models or influencers: They all swear by the same beauty tricks. Luisa Crashion knows exactly what these are. The 25-year-old has been in the beauty industry for years and knows the methods of the beauties of Instagram and Co. In an interview with BRIGITTE, she reveals the secret beauty hacks.

Perfect cheekbones, a lifted eye area and wonderfully full lips – that's what we see on social media every day. We subconsciously compare ourselves with the stars on the red carpet and the models in campaigns and Instagram. Of course we know that pictures are retouched – but the incredible tricks that are still commonplace really shocked us. Thanks to Luisa's insider knowledge, we now also know the amazing beauty secrets and we don't want to withhold them from you any longer!

Lifting to go

Bella Hadid and the Kardashians led the way – now the Fox Eyes trend is suddenly everywhere. An optically lifted brow opens the eye, which makes the gaze appear more alert and youthful. Surprise: Often the beauty doc is behind it. But not always, as Luisa tells us in an interview: "With face-lift tapes you can change your whole face without intervention. The adhesive patches are particularly popular for photo shoots. They are attached to both temples. The thin threads, which are then attached to the back of the head, the eye area is lifted. " The transparent adhesive strips can hardly be seen – they are hidden with the hair or removed when the photos are post-processed.

Wearing the lifting stripes for longer is not entirely safe: "It is recommended not to wear them for more than two to three hours. Otherwise the skin will become slack and you will no longer be able to do without them." There are also other methods with which a similar effect can be achieved: "With a very strict ponytail, the area is also lifted. You can also just take two strands of hair at the temples and tie them tightly at the back of the head a big difference. If you shave off the back part and draw further upwards, the eye area also appears more open, just like with a lifting. "

Make-up for photos

We have all asked ourselves that: What does the make-up of the beauty gurus actually look like in real life? The answer is: Probably not as good as the photos suggest. "Contouring in particular often only looks good from one perspective. The cheekbones are extremely modeled, nobody would walk around outside like that. Make-up for photos is not intended for everyday life. It only looks so good with the right light and certain angles like you see it on Instagram. " This is exactly why you shouldn't compare yourself to it. The photos are a snapshot that perfectly stages the person. But this is exactly where Luisa sees the danger: "We are measuring ourselves against something that is not real."

Incidentally, the same applies to trends such as overpainting extreme lips. "It would look weird in real life."

Facetune

Nowadays you don't have to be a professional photo editor to conjure up a smooth skin online. But Instagram filters are just the beginning, as Luisa tells us: "You can easily change your entire face: remove dark circles, narrow your nose and make your eyes bigger is quite normal for many." She tells us that at an influencer meeting, she didn't even recognize some creators at first. Some are very open about image and video editing and even give tutorials. But there are also many who are creating whole new online personalities. "I think it must be exhausting to play this game all the time."

More and more celebrities are open about their methods. Many post before and after pictures or show how much good posing makes a difference. Tricks for the optimal photo are not only used on the face. People like Luisa Crashion, Natalie Stommel or Hannah (namastehannah on Instagram) ensure a little more reality on Instagram and show us that we shouldn't compare ourselves with anyone. If people don't even look like that themselves, why should we? A little naturalness in this polished online world is really good!
