A small pub in London has been experiencing a real rush for days – triggered by Taylor Swift’s song “The Black Dog”.

Since Taylor Swift (34) released her eleventh studio album “The Tortured Poets Department” last Friday (April 19), the world is different, and not just for her Swifties. The record-breaking double album with 31 songs also had a major influence on a small pub in London’s Vauxhall district.

Swifties flock to London pub for The Black Dog

Because the pub called “The Black Dog” is the subject of a bonus track of the same name on Swift’s album. In the song, Swift sings about how she can still track the location of a former partner and therefore sees him go to a bar called “The Black Dog”. The pop star then goes on to suggest that she, too, once visited the pub with this partner.

Since then, Swifties from all over the world have been flocking to the south London pub to visit the place the singer mentions in the song. “It’s unreal,” quotes “People” the pub’s marketing manager. “We’re lucky because we’re already a well-established and popular local pub, but that’s the key word: we’re a local pub and to get this global attention is crazy.”

People from the USA, Spain, Germany and even Australia have already come by. “Since the album we’ve had to turn away visitors every day because we were completely full,” it continues. The fans were all “wonderful”.

The London pub has already shared several videos on Instagram and TikTok in which the employees allude to Swift’s song. In a video Are they talking about the “Taylor Swift effect”, and there was also a message on the door a board with the lyrics of the song “and then I saw you walk into a bar called ‘The Black Dog’…” attached.

“The Black Dog” is about this Swift ex

It is not known whether Taylor Swift actually visited the pub herself. The song “The Black Dog” is probably about her on-off relationship with The 1975 frontman Matty Healy (35). Swift sings about how the person she’s mourning meets a woman at the aforementioned pub. She is too young to know a song by the 2000s punk band The Starting Line that is played there. It is well known among fans that The Starting Line is one of Matty Healy’s favorite bands.
