“The Wasp”: From December 2nd on Sky and Wow

The series begins in December with the return of the popular German comedy series “Die Waspe”. In season three, darts legend Eddie (Florian Lukas, 50) meets his older brother and arch enemy Ecki Frotzke (Matthias Matschke, 55), whom he hasn’t seen for years. Ecki seems to be targeting the wasp.

When Eddie suddenly finds himself homeless during a tournament, teenager Maxie (Sophie Paasch) introduces herself to him, offers him a place to stay for the night, and later claims to be his daughter. Naturally, his wife Manu (Lisa Wagner, 44) doesn’t like it at all. Until the paternity is clarified, she quickly throws Eddie out of their shared apartment. Meanwhile, Maxie urges Eddie to train her as a darts player.

The third season of “The Wasp” is at least the last of the series on Sky. The pay-TV and streaming provider stopped producing its own series this year. It is currently unclear whether “The Wasp” will continue with a fourth season. The third edition of the humorous comedy series is also true a trailer.

“The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon”: From December 8th on Magenta TV

The epic zombie series “The Walking Dead” ended last year after an impressive 177 episodes. But the popular undead saga continues with a few spin-offs. After “The Walking Dead: Dead City” about Maggie and Negan, another spin-off is now being released, the series “Daryl Dixon”, in which everything revolves around the rough fan favorite from the title, played by Norman Reedus (54).

Daryl washes up on the coast of France in the new series. In a fortified monastery he meets the nun Isabelle (Clémence Poésy, 41) and a boy named Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi), who is viewed by the religious group as a kind of messiah. Together they go on a journey through France, which has been devastated by the zombie plague.

“The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” will be released in Germany on December 8th on Magenta TV. The series has already been renewed for a second season, for which fan favorite Melissa McBride (58) will return as Daryl’s congenial partner Carol. The German trailer sets the mood for “Daryl Dixon”..

“Reacher”: From December 15th on Amazon Prime Video

With the premiere season of the Lee Child adaptation “Reacher,” Amazon’s streaming service Prime Video scored a real hit at the beginning of 2022. Now Muscle Mountain Alan Ritchson (41) returns as ex-military policeman Jack Reacher for the second season of the action series. In the new episodes, the title character learns that members of his former army unit are being brutally murdered. Together with ex-comrades Frances Neagley (Maria Sten, 34), Karla Dixon (Serinda Swan, 39) and David O’Donnell (Shaun Sipos, 42), Jack Reacher takes on the matter.

Audiences and critics were full of praise for the first season of “Reacher.” Lead actor Alan Ritchson and the breathtaking action scenes were particularly praised. After the first volume of the Jack Reacher book series entitled “Killing Floor” (German title: “Großenwahn”) was adapted for season one, “Bad Luck and Trouble” (German title: “Trouble”) is now the eleventh Ribbon as a template. In addition to those mentioned, ex-“Terminator 2” star Robert Patrick (65) also plays. The German trailer gets in the mood for the action series.

“Percy Jackson: The Series”: From December 20th on Disney+

After the two rather mixed films “Percy Jackson – Thieves in Olympus” (2010) and “Under the Spell of the Cyclops” (2013), the story of demigod Percy Jackson is being retold again in a streaming series on Disney+. What’s special about the series project: In contrast to the short-lived film series, original author Rick Riordan (59) was involved in “Percy Jackson: The Series” as co-series creator from the beginning, which is why fans of the book series can look forward to a faithful adaptation this time.

In the new fantasy show on Disney+, title character Percy Jackson (Walker Scobell, 14) discovers that, as the son of the Greek sea god Poseidon, he has formidable powers. Zeus, the prince of the gods, accuses him of stealing his lightning bolt. Together with his friends Grover (Aryan Simhadri, 17) and Annabeth (Leah Sava Jeffries), Percy then plunges into the adventure.

Lead actor Walker Scobell is known from the time travel film “The Adam Project”, in which he played the younger version of the main character played by superstar Ryan Reynolds (47). In terms of age, Scobell is much closer to Riordan’s character in the novel than actor Logan Lerman (31), who played Percy Jackson on the big screen. A trailer sets the mood for the upcoming series.

“Berlin”: On Netflix from December 29th

The heist series “Money Heist,” which ended in 2021, is still one of the most popular Netflix series ever. Viewers particularly loved the characters of the show created by Álex Pina (56) about the professor (Álvaro Morte, 48) and his team members Tokyo (Úrsula Corberó, 34) and Berlin (Pedro Alonso). The latter is now getting its own offshoot in series form, “Berlin”.

Long before he became seriously ill and set out to attack the Spanish banknote printing factory, the series “Berlin” shows the urbane and hardened criminal Andrés de Fonollosa – better known as Berlin – in his middle years. The criminal genius puts together a new group of helpers to steal from “the largest auction house in Paris”, as it says in the trailer for the upcoming Netflix series.

“House of Money” maker Álex Pina is once again responsible for the spin-off “Berlin” as co-series creator. Judging by the trailer, the spin-off also offers all the successful ingredients of the parent series, such as a sophisticated, sophisticated heist, colorful characters who get closer as the plot progresses, and of course an extremely charismatic leading actor in Pedro Alonso. The two popular actresses Najwa Nimri (played Inspector Alicia Sierra, 51) and Itziar Ituño (Raquel Murillo, 49) also return from “House of Money” and appear in “Berlin”.
