This was noticed on Sunday on the 111 federal motorway in Berlin: A truck that had loaded a pickup truck with a van packed on the loading area. A car driver was shocked by the sight, whereupon she called the police.
The officers then stopped the adventurous piggyback driver and examined his cargo. “Our motorway police stopped the tinny Bremen town musicians,” writes the Berlin police on twitter based on the well-known Grimm fairy tale.
Inadequate securing of the load
The truck driver was prevented from continuing. Not because of the height of the vehicle and the load, which is 3.97 meters. Not even because of the weight of the freight of almost 10 tons. What was a thorn in the side of the police officers was the center of gravity, which was shifted dangerously far back due to the unconventional way of loading.
The load securing was also extremely inadequate. For example, the rear wheels of the van only stood on the unfolded loading flap of the pickup truck, which in turn was only secured by a few straps that were tensioned in a highly adventurous manner. (noo)
