Berlin restaurateur introduces the 1G rule – only vaccinated people are allowed in

The Berlin host Josef Laggner invites you to the Oktoberfest in his restaurant – but he only wants vaccinated guests as guests. There is a lot of criticism for that.
Normally only the 3G or 2G rule applies to restaurants in Germany: If all guests have been tested, recovered or vaccinated, operation is permitted with an appropriate hygiene concept. If only recovered and vaccinated guests are allowed (2G), less strict conditions apply.
Josef Laggner, operator of the “Fischerhütte am Schlachtensee” restaurant in Berlin, has opted for an even stricter concept. He implements the 1G rule in his restaurant: Only guests who are fully vaccinated are allowed to attend the Oktoberfest, which Laggner organizes there. “I play it safe,” said Laggner of “Bild”.

Actually, only the 3G rule is mandatory in Berlin. In addition, under 2G events without mask and distance requirements are possible. However, restaurateurs are free to take more stringent measures themselves. Laggner does this to further reduce the risk of infection in his restaurant. “Particular caution is required” at the Oktoberfest, he told the “Berliner Zeitung”.
“People sing, people maybe drink two or three beers, then they speak louder. An event like this can only be held carefree if everyone is really vaccinated,” said the landlord. But why does it also include those who have recovered who, according to scientific findings, are also protected against Covid-19? That is “difficult to control” for him, explains Laggner: “That only applies for a certain time. That is too great a risk.”
Criticism in the social networks
The host’s decision caused a sensation in social networks – the Fischerhütte is well known in Berlin, where Bushido and his wife Anna-Maria celebrated their wedding in 2012. There’s a lot of discussion in the comments on the restaurant’s Facebook page. There are also many insults against the host there, even among posts that have nothing to do with the topic. “Hopefully no one goes here any more,” writes one user. Many accuse him of dividing society. Laggner is still convinced of his decision and hopes for a nice Oktoberfest – only with vaccinated people.
