BERLIN (Reuters) – Germany’s parliament on Friday gave the green light to the redeployment of German troops to the European Union peacekeeping mission (Eufor) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, nearly a decade after their withdrawal, at the end of 2012.

Germany will provide up to fifty men.

The EU has decided to almost double the size of its mission, from 600 to 1,100 men, a few days after the invasion of Ukraine by Russia last February, worried about the repercussions of the conflict on the stability of the former republic. Yugoslav.

Eufor, whose current mandate runs until November, replaced NATO’s peacekeeping mission in 2004.
